New York Comic Con: Day 1

Well hello there. You may have heard about this thing called New York Comic Con. It’s nothing special really, unless you like things that are awesome. Oh, you do like those things? Well then, dear reader, allow me to tell you a few things before I turn in for the night.

NYCC is the second largest pop-culture gathering in the country. 2010 saw over 96,000 attendees which is a lot of people, but when you compare it to San Diego Comic Con’s 130,000 it doesn’t seem so bad. It was fairly crowded today and we only had press, VIPs, and 4-day pass holders on hand. Tomorrow through Sunday are sure to be monstrous.

I don’t have much to talk about today simply because there wasn’t much to do other than look at some things and take pictures. Most places we went to either didn’t have their PR people on-hand or they didn’t have everything completely ready. We did get to see a lot of really cool stuff though and I’m looking forward to telling you all about everything I can. Honestly though, there is so much stuff going on that we might not be able to get to it.

I do have one really awesome thing that I can talk about right now though. We have gotten some seriously cool shit to give away to you guys so far. I’ve got a Sith Empire cog t-shirt from Bioware’s upcoming MMORPG Star Wars: The Old Republic, a doodle rendition of The Noisecast drawn (and signed) by the fine gentlemen over at Explosm.net, and if you’re lucky, maybe some other cool shit too… if I don’t decide to keep it all for myself.
