Google drops Twitter from realtime results

A partnership between Google and Twitter which allowed the search giant to index tweets as parts of its “realtime search results” has lapsed, and Google isn’t looking to renew it.  Instead, Google is looking to integrate Google+ status updates, hinting once again that they aren’t just testing the waters with this social service, but are putting a lot of backing behind it.

This doesn’t mean that you won’t be able to search Twitter from Google. Google previously had a special feed from Twitter that allowed them special access to tweets, but their web crawlers still index the publicly available information from the site.  If you must keep your finger on the realtime pulse of Twitter, Yahoo and Bing still have deals with the 140 character conglomerate.
