Porn in Russia’s iTunes Store

But by no means was this intentional, the report from NBC News indicates that the gaffe was a result of an unobservant web designer using an ‘xx.xx.xx’ placeholder for the Foreign Language Movies section in the iTunes Store. The timing of the flub may be worse than the actual error – on the iTunes Store’s first day opening in Russia.

As has been made perfectly clear, Apple as a company has in the past expressed that they have “a moral responsibility” to keep porn out of their walled garden. Sure, that doesn’t mean people won’t find ways of getting it on there but it’s good to see a company that’s willing to consider seeing the bigger picture.

Needless to say, Apple has admitted the problem and is working on removing the offending site from the iTunes Store (and hopefully redirect them to the proper page). We’re just curious as to how much porn was purchased/seen in that short span of time?
