Some endorsements hold a lot more weight than others. For most consumers, past endorsement from the likes of the Queen of Talk, Oprah Winfrey, have meant becoming THE item of the holiday shopping season. In 2010, that item was the Apple iPad, two years later it is the defacto tablet of record. This year, Christmas came early for the folks up at Redmond.
“It feels like a like a Mercedes-Benz to me people!” was the takeaway from this month’s O Magazine (on newsstands Nov. 6th) according to Mashable. It may not seem like a big deal to us blogger types, but the fact is that it’s a huge nod for Microsoft and their gamble for the future of computing. Around here, we’re excited to see what they do with the Surface, but an endorsement like may catapult consumer awareness to put the Surface front-and-center in shoppers’ minds and possibly a real competitor in the tablet space.
