Internet Fad Of Planking Blamed In Death

A 20-year-old Australian has fallen to his death while joining on the internet fad of “planking” and Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard is calling for a ban of the on the extreme aspects of the activity.

Really? A ban on something that is usually harmless, but this dumbass decided he wanted to plank on a 7th floor balcony on a two inch railing. What did he think was going to happen? Most of the time people who do this activity do it and it’s relatively safe. You just lay stiff as a board in an awkward place. A quick google image search showed people laying on shelfs, or camels, or a ball, or even flat on the ground.

It’s tragic that this guy died, but it’s his own fault. Some people like to take things to extremes and that is fine, but you accept the risk. It shouldn’t be the government’s job to say, “HEY THIS IS TOO DANGEROUS!” If people want to enter themselves to win a Darwin Award, that is their choice.

  1. This is a joke, right? Please tell me this is a joke.

This has got to be one of the most harmless internet fads I’ve ever heard of, and yet someone somehow manages to get themselves killed. Not only that, but his friends blame the creator of Planking for his death. How stupid can you get?

Planking is basically LYING DOWN flat on your front. If you manage to kill yourself doing that, then that’s your own freaking fault.
