It’s that time of the year again where I spend an entire weekend (and some into the next week) watching a bunch of guys in Indiana play Mario games for charity.
That’s right folks, it’s time for Mario Marathon 5.
To date, the Mario Marathon crew have raised over a quarter of a million dollars for Child’s Play. The event itself only started a few hours ago, but they’ve already collected nearly $20k.
If you’re not familiar with the Child’s Play charity, they donate games and toys to sick kids in the hospital to help take their minds off their treatments. Being in the hospital sucks, so Child’s Play tries to make it at least a little bit better. So when you donate to Mario Marathon, you’re actually helping out a child in a a crappy situation. But also it’s just entertaining. So if you’re not doing it for the children, at least do it for yourself. You heartless bastard.
Oh, and they’re doing prize giveaways and if you donate at least $5 you’re entered into a chance to win. If you’re lucky, you might even grab the sweet drinking glass set that yours truly sent in.
