Word out of the Google Earnings call is that as of April 4th, Larry Page will be taking over as CEO of Google from Eric Schmidt. Schmidt will remain as “Executive Chairman” and adviser to the founders. His role will focus on “deals, partnerships, customers and broader business relationships, government outreach and technology thought leadership.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Larry Page of course takes on the day-to-day but Brin will be focused on “strategic projects, in particular working on new products,” according to the company. Basically this is more of a shuffle than anything else and the clearer defined roles marks a maturing (and disciplining) of Google’s strategic approach.
