Remember yesterday when the whole internet decried that George “GeoHot” Hotz chucked up the deuces and went into hiding somewhere in South America? Remember how SCEA, n\u00e9e Playstation US, accused GeoHot of fleeing after they found out he had another PSN account?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Factually, it’s true I’m in South America, on a vacation I’ve had planned and paid for since November. I mean, it is Spring break; hacking isn’t my life. Rest assured that not a dime of legal defense money would ever go toward something like this.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Well turns out dude is on vacation. Yeah, the epic Thomas Crown Affair<\/em>-like story is really nothing more than a large corporate entity with screwed up priorities trying to leverage their position in their upcoming court case with a big bad hacker. (Scary right?) Long story short: Nothing to see here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a surprise twist, George “GeoHot” Hotz has denied fleeing the country and says he is simply on vacation in South America.
