Of course this is important because China is restricting the movement of rare earth metals and alloys critical for most gadgets. The technique could potentially create cheaper and more abundant susbstitutes for electronics parts and break the growing Chinese monopoly.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The team is planning work on replicating other critical rare earth metals but, there is no timetable as to when these will be fully available, we just have a methodology down pat.
