Berserk: Golden Age Arc Movie 1 coming to Viz Media’s Neon Alley<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Manga fans the world over will instantly recognize the violently dark fantasy epic that is Berserk<\/em>. With over 30 million copies sold worldwide, and a serialized 25-episode anime that ran from 1997-1998, Berserk<\/em> follows the story of Guts, a badass lone swordsman and Griffith, the leader of a group of mercenaries, in a Robin Hood-esque world going through a hundred-years war. Viz is re-releasing the anime as a 3-part movie; the first of which will be debuting at the Whitaker St. Louis International Film Festival (SLIFF).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Any Midwest Noisers in the St. Louis area should take some time to check it out, especially those that like their fantasy with lots (and I mean lots) of epic battles and with plenty of dark twists and turns. Berserk<\/em> is not for the faint of heart and will stick with you after watching; there is a reason that the title has managed to gain such a large cult following in it’s 15 year history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Combining a foreboding medieval European-inspired setting with fantasy and exquisitely detailed swordsmanship, BERSERK: THE GOLDEN AGE ARC I \u2013 THE EGG OF THE KING follows lone mercenary, Guts, as he travels a land where a hundred-year-old war is taking place. His ferocity and ability to kill enemies attracts the attention of Griffith, leader of the mercenary group \u201cThe Band of the Hawk,\u201d and Guts is recruited to the unit. Thanks to their continued victories on the battlefield, the bond between Guts and Griffith deepens, but despite all their success, Guts begins to question his reasons for fighting for Griffith\u2019s dream.
