Samsung and Google just announced the Galaxy Nexus in Hong Kong. It is the first Android device running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Powered by a 1.2 Ghz dual core processor, it will come in both LTE and HSPA+ flavors depending on the market. The screen is a curved contour display that’s also a Super HD AMOLED screen. At 4.65 inches, it is a 16:9 display providing a 1280×720 resolution and a 0.01ms response time. The Galaxy Nexus is just 8.9mm thick (the HSPA+ model, no word on the LTE model) and it has a 4.29mm bezel. The rear is a “hyper-skin” coating that makes the device slip resistant. A 5MP camera on the back is also capable of capturing full 1080p HD videos at 30fps and a 1.3MP front facing camera for high quality video chats. The rear camera also features a zero-lag shutter, meaning you can snap pictures back to back almost instantaneously.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Most surprisingly is that the Samsung Galaxy Nexus doesn’t feature any of the normal Android buttons. Instead, those buttons have now become software buttons that appear inside Ice Cream Sandwich. Furthermore, the device also sports a Barometer which brings a whole new realm of possibilities for weather apps. The Galaxy Nexus is launching this November in Europe, Asia, and America, but a final date was not given.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
