Meg Whitman is taking over as CEO of Hewlett-Packard, replacing Leo Apotheker just under a year after he took the position. Whitman, former CEO of eBay and former gubernatorial candidate in California will officially take over as HP’s eighth CEO in 12 years. That’s right, lucky number eight. I’m not sure what’s more pathetic, HP’s CEO shuffle or shareholders actually eating up the CEO-scapegoat scenario eight times in a row. I guess everyone is super confident that the board of directors has actually met Whitman (as apposed to them never having met Apotheker before hiring him), after all, she’s been on the board for a whopping eight months! HP is saying that Apotheker “resigned” his position, a statement which is almost as moronic as the entire HP board put together. Hopefully Whitman, who also takes over as executive chairman of the board, will reverse the computing giant’s stock tailspin and maybe give a glimmer of hope to webOS enthusiasts for the future.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
