Ok,as i said in the previous post, these are the hottest songs that were playing in bars, clubs, beach bars, radio, and cafes. now for my commentary on this years club music.
This year we see that the Brazil theme is still in style, but we also notice the eastern/oriental invasion. Oriental music, such as indian, is slowly capturing the dance floor (Panjabi MC, Bangra Knights). The kick off with the oriental theme was at Eurovision 2003 when Sertab Erener from turkey won with her global hit, “Every Way That I Can.” The club scene has always been impressed with exotic beats. The brazil theme has been around for years, the kick off with the song “Samba” a few years back. The latin scene has not faded, as we can see La Vania making their debut with Vem Que Da, and oddly, Laurent Wolf’s experimental song “Calinda” was an instant success. The French are keeping it strong this year by contrbuting to most of mainland europe’s club hits. In-Grid has returned with another hit single, after last years single “Tu Es Foutu” topped the charts. What has faded a bit this year is the deep bass voice of the black man. ATFC and Demon Summer seem to be this year’s survivors. Influenced by Barry White, the soothing deep black voice has fueled dance floors with hardcore beats, accompanied by heavy drums and bass. House Music has been the only sanctuary for the black voice this year. What re-appeared this year was the crowd chant. We witness the crowd chant in “E Samba” and “Dark Bea”t.” The crowd chant hadn’t been a hit since “Zombie Nation (Chant Mix)” was released a few years ago. What has remained unchanged: the lack of American artists on the scene. Will it change? no, the world s only interested in popular beats that come from america, like rap and alternative. they need not the american dance scene, considering that all they play in clubs in the U.S. are hits from the rest of the world. Outside of club music, the most overplayed american song in europe this summer was “Rock Your Body” by Justin Timberlake. Last year it was “Hot In Here” by Nelly. The big surprise was that i didn’t hear any “remix to Ignition” by R. Kelly once, considering it was the most overplayed song in the U.S. and the tourist parts of Mexico (cancun, puerto vallarta) for a time. I guess europeans aren’t impressed with child molesters. That was my commentary for the club music scene this summer.
Ok, wow, that actually sounded professional. If you want to download these sons, go ahead. try to make the same mix as me. i don’t care, cause your mix will be nothing like mine, cause i’ve mixed it in the most kick ass way. FX is so fucking amazing. Yeah, and odds are, you WILL NOT be able to donwload all the songs cause there wll be songs that you will not find. If you do find all of them, you are one lucky mother fucker only one WinM user had one of the songs, and he was on 56k. This song was nowhere to be found, not on kazaa, not on the net. searching for this song gave you some playlists and charts, nothing more. but my life was made easier thanks to some DJ friends of mine i met in greece and my boy Johnny G www.johngrammatis.com. Now, if you wanna save yourself the downloads and painful searches, just send me $10 and i’ll send you both CDs. Plus, feel free to donate $$ without buying the CDs, so i can buy some DJ equipment i need and better DJ software. ok, i’ve talked enough. peace.
