Age of Conan is being censored in Germany. They’re censoring boobs. They’re censoring decapitation. They’re censoring gore. This isn’t a surprise, considering a little over a year ago the German government was considering to pass a law that would lock you up in jail for up to a year if you killed any virtual humanoid in a video game (zombie, alien, orc, or other human model). This also isn’t a surprise since Germany is adamant on banning everything. Here’s some other things they’ve banned:
- Google Germany has banned all images relating to the Nazi regime from Google Image Search.
- Blogging in German unless you post your full real name and address so others know who is writing.
- Wearing masks.
- Running out of gas on the Autobahn.
- “Hacker tools”
- Pillows being used as weapons
- Tits
German readers, stay tuned. We’ll be mass distributing uncensored American copies of Age of Conan to you, that way you can enjoy the luxuries of decapitation, gore, and boobs across the Atlantic.

Hi, Fried Yoda!
I am afraid this is not totally correct, eventhough its funny. Age of Conan wasnt censored. The game got a ranking. It isnt allowed to be sold to minors. Thats it. And the reason isnt tits. The reason is the combination of gore, violence and, yes, tits.
The censorship would therefor be done by the company who is selling Age of Conan. If they decide to not deliver the version that includes the tits, its their decision.
Wearing masks? Forbidden? No, its not. What can cause you trouble is to be masked on demonstrations. In that case police is allowed to consider you a riot maker and can pull you out of the demonstration. So, practically its forbidden to be masked on a demonstration. While masked people on a carneval procession are not considered a thread, eventhough they are, at least for people without humor like me.
Running out of gas on the Autobahn. Yes, thats a funny law indeed. Has to do with safety. Its also forbidden to drive without a medi-kit or to drive drunk. And a car running out of gas on a highway is indeed a hazard.
Pillows being used as weapons? Yeah, thats indeed a funny one.
