I am proud to announce that the English part of my website has finally reached alpha status. The Greek part hasn’t even been developed yet. There are a few pages that work, although they are not complete. There are still a bunch of CDs I need to add. I don’t have the covers or information with me, but I will be getting that stuff in about a week when I go home for the weekend. Therefore, don’t expect a second update, or even a beta version of the English portion for at least two weeks. By that time, I might have an alpha ready for the Greek part of the website. So check it out, browse around, and feel free to submit any questions, comment, suggestions, or glitches/errors you find.

fuck microsoft and fuck my computer. For those of you who don’t know, here at college i have my old computer. My parents won’t let me bring the new one cause they think it will get stolen. My computer ran like shit, and they told me upgrading to XP would make it run faster. So i download Windows XP Professioanl (450MB in 15 mins ), burn the ISO to the CD, and install it. installation takes 90 minutes. Then i gotta download and install all the updatesand Service Pack 1. installation was hell. it downloaded the stuff in minutes, but installation took hours. grand total of 4 hours 55 minutes just to upgrade from Windows 98 to Windows XP Pro. Next day, i find out Norton Antivirus isn’t working, so i’m like, what the fuck. i to tech support, and the find out i have 4 viruses on my computer. I’m pissed cause i ran a system scan before i installed XP. then i found out that i was hit by 4 viruses (the infamous Blaster worm included) between the time in finished installation and the time i installed the Service pack and updates. Gayness. Add 3 hours to fix my computer from the viruses and reinstall Norton. grand total: 7 hours 55 minutes.

Anyway, my computer still runs like shit. So i call up gateway asking for a memory upgrade. a few years ago i had upgraded the memory from 32Mb to 96 MB (i added 64). well, the guy pulled up my file to see what i needed, and all of a sudden he starts laughing. so i’m like, “is there a problem?” and he said he was just sorry that i had this computer. So he tells me that my computer isnt fit even to run Windows XP properly. Solution: buy two 128MB RAM chips, pitch the 32, and install the 2 128s, so i’ll have 320MB of RAM. since my computer is so crappy, i can’t put more than 384MB of RAM, or 3 128s. the guy was laughing as he was telling me this stuff, cause he couldn’t believe i was actually able to operate the computer. Now, that the RAM was done, i needed to upgrade my video card, cause obviously, an 8MB nVidia Vanta isn’t supported by any software after 2001. So i ask what he can do for me, and this time he doesn’t laugh. he says the best video card i can give you for your system is a 64MB DDR Geforce4. and i was like, sweet! cause 64MB DDR is like havinf a 128MB geforce4. So we put that in. Grand total: $236.25. Before we finished, he laughed again. I asked him what he was laughing about this time. He said it was the current trade-in value for my computer: $26.50. I bought this piece of shit for $1000 in 2000, and now its worth as much as buying 2 CDs.

Bottom line, never buy from gateway. So i’m pissed cause i had to waste so much money on this fucker. Well, spending $300 is worth it. I’d rather waste $300 rather than having a $2000 computer stolen.

i’ve made it official. sometime in the future this xanga is gonna be deaded. once i finish my website, i will no longer update this thing. sure, i may come and post a comment or two on your xangas, maybe even give you an e-prop, bu i’m not gonna post any new things on this board. My website will have its own little weblog if you wanna continue to read about me and what messed up scheme i’m doing. all the etries from my xanga have been uploaded there, along with the comments, so i’m not erasing history. I’m working no adding a comments thing for each entry, but i haven’t gotten into that yet. i’m still doing major work on the rest of the site. Its pretty much gonna be a personal site, so nothn fancy, like porn and mp3s. my original mp3 site was a huge hit, but the napster thing killed me. homestead made mp3s illegal. you might remember it. it was one of the first greek mp3 sites on the web: Greekstyle’s Greek MP3s. i had over 5000 hits within a month. oh well, those were the good old days. my website is gonna be in two versions, english and greek. you choose the anguage at the main screen. Its gonna be a bitch translating everything, but onoce i finish, then its just gonna be the updates, and those will be easy. anyway, yeah, so i’ll continue posting until i get the site up and running.

Well, I got the basic interface up. Nothing works. But the interface is up! This is just a sampler, so things might change in the future.

i’m debating whether or not to continue xanga.

My parents came up to visit me yeserday. whats even better was that they bought me a big TV box worth of suplies Lots of drinks, snacks, and plenty of food, plus some gifts for my names day, which is today. My fridge is full of food. i had run ut of home cooked meals almost two weeks ago. Now i have steaks, pork chops, gemista, fakes, ntomates, souvlakia, loukanika, tyropites, pasteli, giaourti, and jumbis shrimps with cockatail sauce. plus all the junk food that they brought: mini doghtnuts, brownies, cookies, ritz chips, a double fudge chocolate cake, Ion chocolates, and more. I also did laundry yesterday for my first time. My mom taught me how to do it. its not so bad. I found out that the laundromat is a good place to initiate conversation with prospective and beautiful young women.

Its been raining since friday afternoon. but today the sun is out, finally. the rain has stopped. The rain ruined my weekend. no parties HBO is really overplaying My Big Fat Greek Wedding. I heard the new Sopranos season is gonna start in February. thank god, cause if i go to greece for winter break, i’m gonna miss a bunch of episodes.

Since i now have high-speed internet, i have taken advantage of it and begun downloading all the episodes of Curb Your Enthusiasm, since there is no DVD out still. 3 seasons and no DVD. what the fuck. so i’ll make my own dvd. well, i don’t have a dvd writer, but i’ll make VCDs with the episodes.

Anyway, i’m out. got homework and hit to do.
